July 2008
This was a triumph… I’m making a note here, ‘HUGE SUCCESS!'
In hockey it’s called a ‘hat trick’, a ‘trifecta’ in horse racing, and in soccer… well, that’s a whole bunch of screaming ‘goooooooaaaaaaalll!’ But in the world of videogaming, ASTRO Gaming just scored a triple kill.
That’s right: ALL THREE main events at MLG Orlando were taken down by teams using the ASTRO Gaming A40 Audio System. A40’s supercharged the Orlando Halo 3 champions Triggers Down -- the first time since 2005 that Str8 Rippin’, Carbon, or Final Boss hasn’t been first at an MLG event. Rainbow Six:Vegas winners vVv Rewritten went from fourth at Meadowlands to first place in absolutely dominant fashion. Last but not least, the big guys on Frag Dominant triumphantly curb-stomped their competition as Gears of War returned to tournament play in Orlando. All three champion teams deployed full A40 Audio Systems in order to give themselves the edge.
MLG Pro Circuit Halo game play was at an all-time high in Orlando. After narrowly losing the first series of games to San Diego champions Str8 Rippin’, Triggers Down opened up the Championship Final match with the best Capture the Flag game the tournament has ever seen. TD halted Str8’s final flag cap milliseconds before it was captured -- and turned around to steal the win from under their noses. The crestfallen Str8 Rippin’ squad never regained their composure and dropped the next two games, allowing Triggers Down to walk away as champions of the Orlando event.
So it seems that in order to wear the elite crown of champion on the MLG Pro Circuit, you’d better be first wearing the A40 Audio System. Hopefully those crowns are big enough to fit…
The advantages of the A40 Audio System at the MLG Pro Circuit are an integrated, private voice communication system with zero lag -- unlike using Xbox Live communicators, the A40 Audio System offers a fully-dedicated and discrete voice communication system that uses zero network resources. Four MixAmps are already connected and deployed at every single MLG gaming station inside the ASTRO Pro Rack. Players and coaches need only plug in their A40 Headset in order to activate the high-grade voice communication system and Dolby Digital Surround.
Congrats to all of the teams that used the A40 Audio System -- we’ll look for your encore performances in Toronto, Canada from August 22-24.
